Trip to Paris

A Winter Trip to Paris & the Palace of Versailles

On the trail of the Chandeliers in the Dior Campaigns.

So this December it was off to Versailles and also the Garnier Opera House in Paris.

I have recently been blown away by the ad campaigns from Dior for the Perfume J’adore with Charlize Therone and also various Dior Fashion shoots. These shoots were filmed in the spectacular Hall of mirrors in Versailles, the objects that struck me in-particular were of course the pairs of Chandeliers that run either side the length of the room. So i felt I had to see them and just like the advert they simply took my breath away!!

The Chandeliers hung low in the hall to reflect in the rare mirrors of the time.

17 Large Chandeliers and 26 Candelabras

The beautiful 2 crystal tier 16 arm Flat leaf Chandeliers

Close up of the solid silver frames

Large Candelabras either side of the Mirrors that reflect the large arched Windows and the spectacular gardens

Beginning of the Hall.... Speechless!!

An un restored door beautiful in its antiquity!!

Its think its really
worth watching the film on the link to the Dior magazine to see better images of the Interior and gardens of Versailles and of course fabulous clothes and bags

Couture gown on the Dior Magazine website

A crisp Winters day outside the building of Versailles

Many of the statues in the gardens were in hibernation for the winter and covered for protection from the frost there were no fountains on a spectacle for the Spring,,,,,,, an essential to return :-)

On going works to fountains in the grounds

Room after room of Splendour and incredible Chandeliers

Another decadent salon in The Grand Trianon with the low line of Chandeliers. Beautifully cool against the neutral tones

Typical styling of the Marie Antoinette houses in the grounds

Magnificent ceiling in one of the main ceilings in Versailles

The staircase in the Petit Trianon in Marie Antoinettes Estate

A wall candelabra in the Petit Trianon

Stunning Hallway and lanterns with doors to bed chambers in the Petit Trianon

We had a fabulous full day here!!!! Next day, next stop, next instalment the Garnier Opera House in the centre of Paris in all its amazing splendour with wonderful Interiors and Chandeliers........
